• $2,000 scholarship award ($1,000 for the 1st year, $1,000 for the 2nd year of college).
• Undocumented students who meet these criteria are eligible.

To help those with high financial need, Optimal is awarding a $2,000 community college scholarship.

To provide our judges with a true understanding of each applicant, he or she must answer two open-ended, personal, and thought-provoking questions. The students whose responses are the most persuasive, compelling, and well-written, as judged by our panel, will be considered finalists.

Applicants for this scholarship should be enrolled at a public community college, junior college, technical college, or city college, and working towards a certificate, diploma, or degree at the associate’s level or a first-time bachelor’s level.

($1,500-$7,000) - The community contribution scholarship is open to all high school students who have recognized a need or problem in their community and have determined a way to address the issue.

The Geoscience Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Accessibility (IDEA) Scholarship program encourages women from under-served communities to pursue an education and career in the Geosciences, or Earth Sciences. The scholarship provides up to $5000 in awards, annually, typically split between two or more undergraduate students, and matches them with AWG mentors to enhance their careers. It also includes a one-year, sponsored, AWG student membership.

For those intent on pursuing a career in the actuarial profession. Must have at least 1 birth parent who is a member of one of the following minority groups: Black/African American, Hispanic, Native North American, Pacific Islander. For HS seniors w/ a min. 3.0 GPA & a min. ACT math score of 28 or SAT math score of 600.

The American Atheists awards the $1,000 O'Hair Scholarship and four $500 President's Scholarships to atheist students attending graduate, law, college,  university, or vocational school in the United States; you do not have to be a U.S. citizen to be awarded the scholarship, but you do have to attend a U.S.-based institution

($500) - For daughters/sons of active or retired Teamster members who have at least 12 months of consecutive membership in good standing. Need to submit a 500 to 750 words on the following topic in your own words: “How can Unions motivate our youth and women, in particular, to become involved in the Union?”

($500-$10,000) - Applicants must be of Hispanic origin and/or must significantly demonstrate leadership or service within the Hispanic community.

For 9-12th graders. Must submit an essay related to Foreign Service. Winner recieves $2,500 a trip to Washington, D.C. to meet the Secretary of State, and full tuition for a Semester at Sea educational voyage.(topic provided on website). 

Applicants must be an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group, verified through submission of the AIGC Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC) form and be seeking a degree and career in fields of study including: various engineering, computer science, operations management, management, finance, marketing and other business oriented fields

($250-$2,000) - LNESC and LULAC established the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) to help youth in underserved communities make the dream of college enrollment a reality. Students submit a 300 word (maximum) essay on how their academic studies will contribute to your personal & professional goals. In addition, please discuss any community service or extracurricular activities you have been involved in that relate to your goals.

(Camp) - The National Youth Science Camp is a residential science education program for young STEM enthusiasts the summer after they graduate from high school. Students from around the country (two are selected to represent each state and Washington, D.C.) are challenged academically in exciting lectures and hands-on studies, and have voluntary opportunities to participate in an outdoor adventure program, gain a new and deep appreciation for the great outdoors, and establish friendships that last a lifetime.

Minority HS seniors & college freshmen w/ a min. 3.0 GPA & an interest in media careers (business, creative, journalism, technology, or sales) are eligible to apply. During this multi-year internship, students in the program receive an hourly wage & matching scholarship. 

($10,000) - Submit an original photo, artwork or computer graphics for the front of a greeting card.
